This week, we are taking a closer look at our judge Gina Rubel.  As a lawyer and now the President/CEO of the PR & Marketing firm Furia Rubel, she shows girls that they can be all they want to be and MORE!  Read more about her many accomplishments below.

Known in many circles as passionate about her home, heritage, community and public relations, Gina Rubel founded Furia Rubel Communications in 2002. The public relations and marketing agency is a full-service women-owned certified WBE. In 2008, the agency was named one of the Top 300 WBE’s in the U.S. by Women’s Enterprise Magazine.

Furia Rubel provides expert strategic planning, public relations, marketing, crisis communications, mergers and acquisitions, and media relations programs to a wide array of industries and companies internationally. The agency develops and executes proactive communication plans that enhance their clients’ brands, develop business, boost their reputations and increase their bottom lines. In fact, Gina and her team have placed clients in such media as FOX, ABC, NBC, CBS, KYW, Good Morning America, The Today Show, NPR, MSNBC, Family Circle, The Wall Street Journal, Inside Edition, Forbes and The New York Times (just to name a few).

Gina has worked in-depth with the media and public relations for more than two decades. In college, she served as the media spokesperson for the Drexel University solar car team. She then handled internationally publicized death penalty appeals as a judicial law clerk for the Philadelphia Common Pleas Court. As a result, she was appointed to serve on a Supreme Court of Pennsylvania Disciplinary Board Hearing Committee for six years.

After practicing law, Gina focused on proactive communications. As a client advocate and business diplomat, she has handled PR and marketing for law firms, accounting firms, pharmaceutical companies, manufacturers, non-profits, artist studio tours, pension funds, business brokers, educational institutions, retail property management groups, entrepreneurs, festivals and events, and so much more.

Gina’s work and community service has been acknowledged by her peers. In 2010, she received The Legal Intelligencer Women Lawyers of Distinction Award and the Central Bucks Chamber of Commerce Patricia Clatch Award. In 2009, Gina was honored by the National Italian-American Political Action Committee with a Special Achievement Award in Legal Communications and Media. In 2008, she was named a Woman of Distinction by the Philadelphia Business Journal and one of Gov. Ed Rendell’s Best 50 Women in Business. She also received the 2007 Deanne White Award for Community Service from the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) Philadelphia Chapter.

A nationally sought-after speaker and author, Gina’s most recent book is, Everyday Public Relations for Lawyers. She will also publish a collaborative book, 6 Essentials for Success in Business and Life, in 2009.

Gina supports philanthropy and service. Her company has received Philadelphia Business Journal Top Corporate Givers Awards in 2008, 2009 and 2010. She currently serves as the chancellor of The Justinian Society (Italian-American Lawyers) of Philadelphia. She is a past president of the Women’s Business Forum of Bucks County and is a past member of the Board of Directors of the Drexel University Alumni Association. She also serves at the Bar-News Media Committee Chair for the Philadelphia Bar Association and on the board of the Bucks County Women’s Fund which provides grants to empower women and girls in the community where she lives.
